Harefield Radio

Harefield Radio has been broadcasting to the patients, staff and visitors of the hospital since 1962. We were the very first hospital radio station in the UK to broadcast on FM and provide a 24-hour a day service. We have interviewed many famous guests at Studios including Ken Bruce and Alan Deddicote of BBC Radio Two with Adam Lewis hosting a two-hour show with him. Other guests include Ronnie Barker and the late Eric Morecambe and Roy Castle.

With investment from both the trust and many other charities, we were able to purchase both new equipment and also move to a new purpose built location in the hospital grounds. We now broadcast from our state-of-the-art broadcast centre

We broadcast the majority of our programming live, with the rest being pre-recorded. All of our work is entirely voluntary and our members offer their own time and expertise at no cost to the trust or charity. We are always looking for new volunteers to help us. If you are interested in offering a few hours a month, please click on "Volunteer" on the menu to the left of this page.

Take some time to browse around our site, and if we can help you any further, please feel free to contact us.
